Formats & Regions

Some of our products are locked to specific regions, and can only be played with compatible media players. Information about a products region can be found under “Product Information” on each product's page.
There are media players on the market capable of playing all optical disc formats and regions.

UHD
UHD is an updated version of Blu-Ray and can not be played on conventional Blu-Ray players. All UHD discs are Region Free and can be played on any UHD player.

Blu-Ray
There are three regions for Blu-Rays: A, B and C. Region B is native to Sweden (and Europe). Some discs are Region Free and can be played on any Blu-Ray player.

DVD
There are six different regions for DVD’s, numbered 1-6. Region 2 is native to Sweden (and most of Europe). Some discs are Region Free and can be played on any DVD player.

VHS
There are three major standards for VHS: PAL, NTSC and SECAM. The standard in Sweden (and all European countries but France) is PAL. Since VHS is an analogue media, the difference between the standards are a physical limitation and not an implemented restriction like with optical disc formats.
However, some VCRs can play all standards.
